Our Eye Examinations
It is a legal requirement within the UK to cover certain aspects in an eye test. Some opticians will do this in as little as 20 minutes. At the Spectacle Shop, we will do the basic requirements set out in law, but believe that for us to supply the correct eyewear and service for you, we must get to know you as an individual and not just the pathology at the back of your eye.
What Happens During your Eye Test
Getting to understand you as an individual takes time, which is why our eye test will take between 45minutes and an hour, and it really does help us at the start of your journey to getting eyewear that not only fulfils all your visual requirements but will help us to find eyewear to make you feel and look amazing.

We pride ourselves on listening to the customer and the problems they may have with their vision. We will try to solve problems with job-specific tasks, which may be work-related or just for a hobby.
The optometrist is not under pressure to rush the sight test and is able to have a conversation to get to know you and your requirements.
The conversation we have during the eye test can help to highlight past issues and hopefully come up with alternative solutions to ongoing spectacle usage.
OCT - Optical Coherence Tomography
We have invested in the latest eye scanner. The OCT (optical coherence tomography) is a non-invasive test that provides a detailed scan of the back of the eye(macular).
We will use this scanner if the optometrist feels it necessary during the eye examination.
